What is IAQ?

How does it affect me?

Advances in technology and a greater understanding of allergens have made it possible for Chapman to provide you with many cost-effective means of making your home’s air cleaner, safer and, well, more comfortable. Those for whom allergies give fits benefit particularly from our products but even our customers who don’t suffer from the wheezes and sneezes remark that the air seems fresher in the home.

Whether a new whole-house humidifier, an ultra-violet duct light, a filtration system or an entire clean comfort package, you’ll really feel the difference.

Based upon your home and family’s particular needs, we can customize a package perfect for you. Let us know how we can help improve your family’s quality of life at home!

Whole House Humidifier

For the Heating Season

A host of health issues can plague you if your house or room isn’t properly humidified during the heating season. Severely dry air – a humidity level below 30 percent can cause respiratory irritation, uncomfortably dry nasal passages, nosebleeds and chapped/itchy skin. It can also exacerbate conditions such as allergies and asthma.

  • It keeps your entire home at a set humidity with just a one-time setup.
  • Most whole-house humidifiers literally cost pennies per month to operate.
  • The whole-house humidifier works by drawing water directly from your existing water supply.
  • Chapman Family Comfort Club members receive annual maintenance on a whole-house humidifier, for no additional charge.
  • A Chapman whole-house humidifier can be installed directly on most existing furnace systems.

Carbon Monoxide Monitor

Monitor the Danger

CO is odorless, invisible and extremely dangerous!

It is present in virtually all heat producing items (water heaters, gas furnaces, stoves, cars in attached garages).

Monitors are able to tell you the level in your home at all times, unlike a detector that just alerts you when there are high levels of carbon monoxide in your home.

Ultra Violet Light

(UV light)

Indoor air can be some of the poorest quality air we experience. When we leave our windows shut, air is constantly recirculated throughout our homes.

Your air handling system can operate with more efficiency as the coils, drain pan and ductwork stay cleaner longer.

This light is installed in your ductwork to kill molds, bacteria, yeasts and viruses. The bulb gets changed yearly.

Filtration Systems

MERV 11 and MERV 16 Filters

These filters are highly efficient and are the perfect solution for households with small children, pets or allergens. Dust mites, pollen and mold spores, oh my! The filtration cabinet can withstand up to 400 lbs of static weight – enough to support the weight of a furnace and indoor coil. Chapman recommends these filters are checked every 6 months but can usually go a year without being changed.

What does MERV mean? MERV = Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value. This describes the filter’s ability to capture particles and ranges from 1 to 16. Typical Fiberglass Filter = MERV 1. The higher the MERV rating, the better the filtration.

Lennox Pureair

This filtration system can work with your existing heating and cooling system to remover over 95% of particles in your home. Air purification technology goes beyond those allergens and particles in the ai, and can also remove up to 50% of household odors and chemical vapors in a 24-hour period.
